Bizman62
Hi and welcome to the addiction! Solid body classical? Why not? Supposedly by "classical" you mean a nylon stringed guitar with a bit wider and flatter neck. They're rare but not unseen. Even Thomann seems to have one on their list for a decent price! Notice that without amplification it will be quite silent which can be a good thing for practicing behind thin walls. I'd also choose quite lightweight woods for the body if you're going to use the outlines of a classical. You can make it much thinner but the surface of a classical is pretty large. Considering your minimal experience I recommend you to familiarize with the construction of bolt-on guitars like a Telecaster. In your case the neck would be wider but the basics remain the same. A true classical guitar usually has a mortise and tenon neck joint or even worse, a dovetail. For a "fendery" neck joint you just need to carve a pocket for the neck on a flat board. Your idea of an amplified solidbody classical isn't unique or new but it's rarely seen so I'll be waiting for photos of your progress.
