stevehollx
I just bought a junker strat to fix up and have. The neck plays nice, and the fretwork is level, but the frets stick out of the sides of the neck, and have a sharp feel when moving the hand up and down on the neck. It is an unbound maple neck. Im assuming I have to dress these frets. What should I used to do this? I assume I a file to trim the edges, and then a file to bevel the edges? I'd like to not have to spend a bunch on a file...and would like to only spend around $20-30. What should I get, and can I get it from StewMac? Oh and what do you guys use to cut nut blanks with? Will a single file work for this as well?
