DIY Sustainer Question

I recently bought a sustainer circuit off Alixpress, this one:

It actually seems to work, the trouble is that I can't get the driver quite right for consistent sustain.

In my area, someone is selling a secondhand Fernandes driver pickup - I'm wondering if I can match Fernandes driver with the Alixpress pickup? Are the Fernandes drivers pretty similar in design to DIY sustainer drivers (albiet professionally designed) or are they radically different and not likely to work with a generic sustainer circuit?

The driver coil is basically a MUCH beefier version of a regular pickup (well, they don't need magnets, I think). So, yes, you can try the fernandes driver.

Good find on Aliexpress, although, the reviews are not great
