JohnJohn Posted March 4, 2004 Report Share Posted March 4, 2004 Some fillers will darken end grain.Try either a scrap or in an small hidden area.Minwax makes a wood conditioner that balances out wood.But it will darken it.Plus you would have to give a week for the chemicals to throw off for when you switch bases.Some people use a 10-1 cut white shellac spit coat to seal.
