Brian Posted February 9, 2003 Report Share Posted February 9, 2003 Yes it's fine to use water based paints on any wood, just make sure you seal it first so the wood doesn't ruin your art work if your doing something custom. The reason I say that is because it could suck the paint into the grain and cause it to distort in color. Be sure you top coat it good to protect it as well and I'm pretty sure you can get away with just about any type of top coat. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
