guitar_ed
Howdy, Since the question of gold frets was raised, I thought I would try this. From time to time I see people who do silver inlays on their fretboards. Why not gold? Silver is still fairly soft. Gold has been used in the cavities in my teeth. In either case, it would be amalgem (sp?) Any thoughts? Guitar Ed

rhoads56
14k Gold flat bar, 1.5mm x 1.5mm x 440mm = $226 USD (approx 1/16" x 1/16" x 17") Thats enough to do a small vine. I used about 750mm (silver) for the guitar in the link in my signature
Jupiter
I saw a PRS Private Stock { what a snobby name... } with 24k gold bird inlays once..... to me, it seemed gaudy, but i'm sure whomever paid $6000+ for it didn't think so...
