Aussiepappy
G'day! Ive just purchased a rhoads style body, looking for a neck to put on it. The body has been pre-drilled for a neck and as I was checking them out, they seem to be slanted. Looking from the back of the guitar to the front, they slant downards towards the pickups. Is this common? Do all screw holes slant or was this a botched drilling job? Any help would be appreciated as I would like to know if this project is still salvageable or not. KeithHowell
You could always fill the holes with a suitable sized dowel and redrill them on a drill press. Keith
frank falbo
Perhaps is the neck pocket angled, and the screw holes are perpendicular to the angle? If not then it's just a mistake. But if it's not that much of an angle it may come out when you screw the neck on.
Aussiepappy
Thanks for the responses Keith and Frank. The neck pocket is not angled. The holes that have been drilled look like pilot holes, you could fit a thin matchstick in the holes. One hole is a little bigger. There is a difference of about a 1/4 distance from the entrance hole to the exit holes. I will see about filling them up and having the holes redone properly. Hopefully that should do it. Thanks, Pappy
