Defiled
Will I be able to have a H/S/H setup with a 25" scale, 24 fret fingerboard ? I plan on using Carvin's through-body neck, and I cannot find the length of the fingerboard. I'm just not sure if there is a certain distance needed between each pickup. Guest Litchfield Custom Gutars
Your fretboard is about 19". HSH is very possible with this. I would direct mount the pickups, just to be sure. There is about 6" left to play with, depending on what bridge you use. The design will work fine.
Defiled
Thanks for the quick response, but what is direct mounting?

Guest Litchfield Custom Gutars
Direct coupling is pressing the pickup int the wood. Direct mounting is screwing the pickups into the body. Both eliminate mounting rings. That was the object of my suggestion.
Defiled
Can you point me to a site that deals with direct mounting? I've been looking around without much luck.
Jehle
This actually gives me an idea to tweak how I've got my pickups mounted. Right now they are floating on foam and screwed into the body. It's works okay, but they tend to be just off angle. It would be nice to have them set flat and square. Time to break out the shims.
Guest Litchfield Custom Gutars
Warmoth deals with it a little, and Erni Ball does it on Music Man guitars...Axix, and Pettrucci.
