Finding the right string width tremolo

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

i bought this lefty handed strat body on ebay a couple weeks ago:

Well, i'm putting it together, and i was wondering about the tremolo system that should be put in. The body is to be used with a modern style string through tremolo system with 2-1/8" string spacing. Holes are pre-drilled as you can see.

The tremolo system that i have is:

Stewart MacDonald guitar parts

i got the chrome lefty model. Anyway, the spacing for this is 2-7/32", and the six screw holes obviously don't quite match up. Can i still use this if the strings line up right on the fetboard to the nut? Meaning, the high E string is closer to the edge of the fretboard on the 22nd fret, compared with the first fret. not by much at all, but a little. where can i get the right part for this. Where do they have a lefty chrome strat tremolo system with a 2-1//8" string spacing? or can i just use what i have? I would appreciate any answers, comments. Thanks for reading.
