rabidmoose171 Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 If you go on ebay they sell custum kits for like 90 dollars, im assuming these are crappy woods... am i right? If the guitar came pre built and stuff, how much would it be, because im geting 150$ and i might just buy some SD's for my rg that im messing with, or i might get a kit and build from scratch if it wont totaly suck. They are basswood bodied... and I believe Ibanez RG's are basswood too. You can decide if it's crappy wood . Quote
Maher Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 Basswood is a comparatively lightweight wood, which makes it very comfortable for extended playing. With a good balance of highs and lows, basswood is right in between alder and mahogany in sound character. according to Ibanez Quote
lovekraft Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 Here are the same kits from Brian (the guy who runs this place) - he checks 'em out , etc., so they won't give you massive hassles in assembly. Custom Guitar kits-Solid Body Electric If you've got questions, I'm sure he'd be happy to answer 'em. FWIW, I like the sound of my basswood Ibanez. Quote
