Nalo1022
rosewood is a realtively oily wood and can be left unfinished
Scott Rosenberger
just put some lemon oil on it, or you can get the fingerboard conditioner from Stewmac
monkeymankw
Can you use tung oil?
MikeB
i asked this b4, but along the same lines as topic. is there any problem with laquering a fretboard, in my case teak, cos itll bring the grain out well, and its scallopped, so feel wont factor into this. thinaks
Scott Rosenberger
Can you use tung oil? I wouldn't Tung oil can be very sticky on a fingerboard
StiffyGRX40
I have a friend that refinished guitar and stained the rosewood fretboard black, and it looks sweet. He used black aniline dye. I'm going to do the same thing on an old busted acoustic that I am working on fixing.
