sjaguar13
I don't get the whole blowing thing. I just need someone to start blowing really hard on the guitar as I pull it out?
Hardball
Just moving air into a point on the top of the water where the oil paint is floating causing the oil paint to spread out in an area large enough to pull the guitar out so that you don't have any paint cling to it on the way out of the bath. Think of it as a paint brush applying the paint as you sink it into the water/borax/oil paint mixture. Then you want to lift the paint brush off so that you don't apply on the way up so you move the paint away from the guitar as it comes out. musicdr
After you pull it out of the water, shake it a little(gently) to get as much water off the guitar as you can, then use a hairdryer to get more water off.The hairdryer will also help get some of the paint bubbles out. After letting it sit for 20min. gently use a soft cloth and brush any more water off-do not apply any pressure when you do this-your trying to remove the water not the paint! To explain further-use the cloth as you would your fingertips when lightly touching the hairs on your arm, touching the hairs only not the skin.Hope that makes sense!By the way,the hairdryer should be a low power-you are only using it to get water off not dry the paint. This works good for me when using enamels.Have no idea about other paint types.Have fun.
