I guess they would work, but it will not be easy to get feedback on this one, as it is rarely used for necks. Many bass necks are laminated from walnut and maple or mahagony though.... Drak Posted April 12, 2004 Report Share Posted April 12, 2004 Both woods are nice, stable, reliable woods. Neither are any heavier than Maple, which is commonly used for necks, so go for it.
