musmanjam
I'm looking to buy and restore an old SG custom or special. It's an odd guitar. It has P-90's but has a Gibson custom headstock with the typical Gibson custom inlays. However, the veneer is whitish to natural colored. I have never seen a custom headstock with anything other than a black veneer. Has anyone ever seen anything like this before? Thanks, John

krazyderek
well.... and I couldn't find anything with a white headstock or much with a veneer/top on it on everything sg .com so i'm thinking it was an aftermarket job... and btw, i don't think veneer would work on an SG, it'd have to be a thick enough top or solid figured body
spirit
I know what an SG is, I wanted pics of the veneer.

spirit
well, actually, i suppose it doesn't matter, as I read both of them, and I'm not really sure what there is to laugh at. Unless StonesCreed finds SGs funny?
musmanjam
Well, I didn't mean to start an e-war! Anyway, here is a link to the pics. It's a strange one. Like a combination of an SG special with P-90s and an SG custom headstock that's white. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/ebayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=3718597379 Ever seen anything like it?? Guest Litchfield Custom Gutars
You a lefty? Looks like a heaily hotrodded SG standard, or maybe a fake. Either way, you have an SG to work on now The ir a P90 in the neck, and an HB in the bridge. Depending on the make/model of those, it will possibly yeild a fairly versatile axe
Guest Litchfield Custom Gutars
Ummm.... That looks questionable. The dark lighting seems kinda shady too.
