Oil and water based stains

Is it alright if my black stain is oil based and my green is water based?

I would steer very clear of any oil-based stains unless you know exactly what you're doing with them, the alcohol and water-based stains are easily obtainable and I very much prefer them.

Enter at your own risk there.

Can it be done? Hell, anything 'can' be done, but there's more risks associated with oil stains than the others, I put too much effort into a guitar to knowingly walk into a minefield and get my danged leg blowed clean off...

PS, if you're trying to mix them, the answer is no, oil and water don't mix.
