Maiden69 Posted May 5, 2004 Report Posted May 5, 2004 Hi, I'm new here and I was directed by the proyectguitar.com site. I was looking into scalloping the neck on my Epiphone Les Paul. It has a binded neck and I don't know what to do. Shall scallop the whole width of the neck like the regular type (and if I do this how difficult will be to repair the bindind) or do a recess from one side to the other, like a pool between the frets. I have painted and customized guitars (mainly electronics and set-ups) but it will be the first time I deal with a binded neck. Any help on this will be greatly appreciated. Quote
Maiden69 Posted May 6, 2004 Author Report Posted May 6, 2004 Thanks for your reply. Special thanks to Brian for the pics. That's a great job. I will do mine probably this weekend, hopefully it will turn half as good. As soon as I'm doneI'll post some pics. One last question for Brian, do you have to go easy on the binding? Quote
Devon Headen Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 as long as you don't angle the file (or whatever you're using), it can't cut deeper on the ends than in the middle. I don't see any danger of the binding getting lower than the FB. Quote
