jammy Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 My brother bought his LC15 about 3 months ago, great little amp, but a rubbish speaker. He wanted it replacing with a 12", but unfortunatly that wouldnt fit in the origional housing...so over the past few days we converted his combo into a mini stack. We've finished the head, and will start on the cab tomorrow. pic 1 pic 2 pic 3 pic 4 pic 5 pic 6 Let us know what you think Quote
jbkim Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 Good job. Looks good! Heh, nice rack (pic 6 .) Quote

Jon Bell Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 Looks good, where did you get the vinyl? Quote
Jehle Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 Behold, it's "solar" from Guitarist. I've already made comments on the Guitarist forum. I think this is a great idea. That Tech21 Trademark 10 of mine is starting to get scared. Moo Hoo HA HA HA! Quote
jammy Posted May 18, 2004 Author Report Posted May 18, 2004 Its not solar, its solars brother...im the one who did all the work really Quote
jammy Posted May 18, 2004 Author Report Posted May 18, 2004 Looks good, where did you get the vinyl? Thanks Its from maplin... Quote
nonamemx Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 Is that an ADA MP-1 preamp? Whats it sound like? Quote
jammy Posted May 19, 2004 Author Report Posted May 19, 2004 Its an MP2 actually, can do all the MP1 could do, but with a few more bells and whistles. One of the valve voicings is called "MP1" and captures the crunch of that pre amp perfectly. I bought it because of the ludicrous amount of gain on tap...theres a gain control for the amp, and built in overdrive Quote
nonamemx Posted May 19, 2004 Report Posted May 19, 2004 Ah, okay. It looks like the MP-1. Whats the sound like? can you compare it to marshall, bogner, mesa, soldano? Im thinking to buy it, and a power amp, and go rack instead of getting a head. Quote
feylya Posted May 19, 2004 Report Posted May 19, 2004 Allow me to be the first to say Ooooooooooooooh! Nice rack btw Quote
jammy Posted May 19, 2004 Author Report Posted May 19, 2004 Whats the sound like? can you compare it to marshall, bogner, mesa, soldano? All of the above It will do just about anything you want really as it has 10 different valve voices. The cab is finished bar the metal corner protectors which are out of stock pic7 pic8 pic9 pic10 pic11 Quote
nonamemx Posted May 20, 2004 Report Posted May 20, 2004 Thats so cool . . . Is the laney tube? I think you should find another "Laney" plastic or metal logo on ebay to put on the cab, to complete the job. Is the cab glued togeather (the 4 walls?) Quote
jammy Posted May 20, 2004 Author Report Posted May 20, 2004 Yeah the laney is all valve - gives an awesome tone. Im currently on the hunt for another laney badge...so if anyone has one? Both the head and cab are constructed in the same way, if you look at pic 7 you can see that the sides are butted up to the top, its then screwed and glued into place, then the screw heads are filled over.
