esp f200 or flying v, my first build

Recommended Posts

Well, the CAD teacher at my school is letting me use the CNC milling machine after school. Because i need to have all the milling done by the end of the school year, i'm using blueprints from guitarbuild.com. The only two that i found that meet all my needs are an esp f200 and a flying V. I will be deciding which one i will do soon. I like the shape of the f200, but the v seems easier, so i might go with the v. I think they both look pretty cool. Anyway, there are a couple things that might help to know before starting out. First off, are pickup routes always the same height for standard humbuckers, or is there lots of variation. As long as i have the measurements to one piece, i can dimension all the rest using that as a reference point. So, if there is a standard routing depth, can somebody be nice enough to tell me what it is? Or is there any other measurement that is constant on almost all guitars? Thanks for your help. Neal

Generally your going to find two different depths depending on if the pickups are to be body mounted or mounted using either a pick guard or trim ring.

I don't have a body close by but I'll try and get those for you in the morning.
