ThePlague
i read the tutorial on applying the material finish and i'm thinking about trying it. would canvas work for this type of project? i'd like to have a friend paint something and then put it on the carvin bolt kit i'll be ordering soon. guitar_ed
Hi Plauge, Why not have your friend apply the painting directly to the guitar body, perhaps over primer? Just an idea that I have never tried. Guitar Ed
ThePlague
that's what my original idea was, but i think he'll do much better work if he's doing it on a material he's familiar with. and not only that, if he screws up a piece of canvas it's not a big deal. Greg13
I think the canvas would work, its just liek any other material...But what kind of adhesive would you use? I want to cover my guitar in newspaper clippings, i dunno whether to strip?sand? the paint of my body or just paste the clippings over top? if anyone has insight on that or what kind of glue or paste to use that'd be helpful too... gwm
3M makes a nice spray adhesive. I think it would be great for paper. You might want to test some scraps for the canvas project though. I'm not sure where you can get it, probably a home depot or a craft shop.
