Hai :D

Just though, since i bothered to do it, i may as well show it somewhere...

http://www.kmscomputer.com.au/guitars/guitarconcepts.htm

Since i started playing guitar, ive been constantly making notes on what guitars i would one day like to have... so since im in exams at the moment, i decided i would spend a ridiculous amount of time drawing the guitars i want with some basic specs up on the computer with some help (read: a lot) from the kisakae virtual guitar thingo

None of them are anything groundbreaking at all, but ive never been teh sort of guy to want something totally weird and original, just little twists and stuff to existing guitars.

Since im attempting to learn about building now, I plan to eventually build myself all of these guitars... however im no fool, im not jumping into building expecting to churn out my dream custom guitars without a good deal of experience under my belt B)

Pinky (the warlock) is just about completed, and i have enough stuff here to start the telecaster over the next few weeks. happy days.... :D

edit: oh oh oh, big question i forgot, just about hte only important part of the post!

with the explorer, i have an Ironbark veneer top i want to put on it, but im worried my idea of a solid mahogany body with a mahogany neck wont yeild a very good metal tone, even with the EMG active pickups. Despite the fact i like metallica, im not necessarily trying to emulate their sounde exactly... i have my own tastes in sound, and i like lots of crunch... so although im willing to use mahogany to get a nice full tone, i dont want it to be muddy. suggestions/advice?

Yeah, i have to admit, i was inspired a lot by that :D

well actually, before i saw draks stuff i wanted to do a guitar just like the horse, only in a strat shape... but after seeing that one, i decided a tele would be so much cooler B)

I like the maple fingerboard idea for the smutocaster too... i might try that out.

SRV replica?.... i guess technically it is sorta.. but i never aimed for that. im not a big fan of replica guitars, i just love the look of the 3 tone burst like that with gold hardware and that style of pickguard... it just does it for me :D
