Damo
I'm repairing a guitar for a friend, it's an old Encore acoustic, with a round polymer bowl back, which has come away (Due to an ex-wife smashing it into a table!) Which type of glue should be used to re-attach it, once I've finished with the other repairs? I was thinking of just carpenters wood glue? Would this suffice? Thanks Damo
darren wilson
Carpenter's wood glue might not be sufficient to stick the top to the composite back material. Mabye a very sparing use of epoxy?
KTLguitars
I don't know about the Encore acoustic, what kind of polymer it made of, but if you are not planning to remove it again later -epoxy normally would work -as Darren says. There might also be other, more kind of universal hobby glues, that can work well for the combination of wood and polymers.
