metallisomething
I suggest starting at the beginning ask yourself these questions and do them if the answer is no do you have a shape idea? do you have a actual size drawing? bolt on? set neck? neck through? more help can be added with the answering of those questions

truerussian558
answered in your other thread also since you dont know what those are more then likely you dont have it planned out yet, i suggest you get some guitar making litterature "Make your own electric guitar" by Melvyn Hiscock is a very good book, it explains everything in detail (all the aspects of building) and then takes you through the building of three guitars, a Bolt on strat shape guitar, A set neck tele, and a neckthrough 8 string bass. in my oppinion a very good book, and can be had for under 30 bucks off amazon

charlleyw
A really cheap, fast and dirty way to start is by assembling a kit. (OK it's cheating. . .) you can get one off ebay for about $80 It helps to have a cheap "parts guitar" around to try out new ideas on. Come to think of it it's time for me to dig that old silvertone out. . .
