lovekraft
Here are a few more suppliers in Oz, for benno and all the other guys down under, courtesy of our friends at Aron's DIY Stompbox Forum: http://www.altronics.com.au These guys are good. http://www.delsound.com.au never used 'em, found only last week! http://www.farnell.com/australia Fantastic range, prices that Donald Trump wouldn't pay. http://www.multicorp.com.au ? http://www.radioparts.com.au Great guys. http://www.rockby.com.au Seem pretty good, but never used them. http://www.rs-components.com.au About as expensive as Farnell. http://www.volt.com.au I believe a store that is somehow linked to the magazine Silicon Chip. http://www1.electusdistribution.com.au Jaycars distribution centre, recently opened to the public. Checkout: http://www.altronics.com.au http://www.rockby.com.au http://www.jaycar.com.au http://www.dse.com.au http://www.oatleyelectronics.com http://www.farnell.com (select the Australian site) http://www.rsaustralia.com ... ranked in approximate usefulness / cheapness for DIYers. It might be worth a couple of emails to see if you can get the parts you're missing in a more timely manner, Ben. HTH
benno
I rang them up yestday, and gave the poor guy on the other end of the line a serve, then he calmly said he'd have them out tomorrow (Friday). So it should be OK. Thanks so much for all your offers for help though, much appreciated. That list of suppliers is great. I have actually started painting the guitar today.. benno
Guess wat ladies and gents the parts arrived today!!! bout bloody time.. i realsied i forgot to order a resistor but thats ok cause i had a 10k in my box misc parts. I put it all together, with few dramas cept a dry solder i think it is called, where it looked like it was soldered but signal still didnt get through. These little things sound pretty good and go fairly hard. But dont build one if you want metal distortion coming out of it or anything, more suited for say blues and hendrix sorta stuff. Be careful with the volume knob, anything past 5 and it sounds **** and your deaf at the same time. ANyhow, ang Qs feel free to ask, oh and theres pics of my dodgy soldering at http://bsto.tk. under the guestbook button. I'm quite happy just gotta install this sucker in my nearly finished strat and I am done with a few days to spare. Ben
