Is it possible to completely strip a set neck guitar? I want to strip the wine red finish from the body and neck of my Epiphone Les Paul - What would I need to finish the guitar with after to stop the wood warping?

Yes it's possible. For best results you'll remove the neck and finish it seperatly.

If you're unfamiliar with any wood finishing, I'd suggest buying an inexpensive "kit" guitar and working on that first.

Just sand it, the stain goes deep, so be prepared to sand a while, and don't use power tools unless you have one like Guitarfrenzy does, the one with 3 round mini disks.

What are your intentions, just the neck or the whole thing? If is the whole thing check the SG here , if it's the neck just sand. And I would have suggested to sand the whole guitar too, I don't like those chemical strippers for wood, but if thats all you have OK.
