Well, I've finally finished building my shop (almost) and aquired some wood from the fine folks at A&M Woods in Cambridge, Ontario. I've decided that my 1st project will be a Telecaster style guitar, (keeping it simple, lol). The body will be swamp ash, maple neck, rosewood fretboard. I've created body & neck templates from pics posted on Guide to Guitarbuilding, only to find out that after months of searching, A&M Woods have templates you can trace right next to their HUGE selection of woods! To transfer paper drawings onto plywood, I use transfer paper. (It is ink impregnated, just like the kind in receipt books.) Using a good straight edge for the straight lines (i.e. guitar neck). Take your time along the curves, and you'll have an exact replica. I purchase my transfer paper at [url=http://www.workshopsupply.com] It is available in large sheets, enough to trace several full-size guitar drawings.

Hi everyone! I've been playing guitar for years, always wanted to build my own. I think this is a great site - very informative and helpful. I'm currently in the process of building a workshop in my basement, and plan to build my first electric guitar very soon.
