I have owned a POD and it was good. I have a couple of other modelers too; Yamaha DG1000 and a Magicstomp. When I found the Black Box at a good price I went for it. The M-Audio Black Box is a fine piece of gear. The sims are as good as I have heard in an outboard unit and the FX are pretty cool too, inspiring even. I think the main strength of the Black Box is that it is a great stand alone unit for a performer to use (it has a built in mic-pre) as well as being a quality audio interface. I got mine for €155. I think that is cool. Just my 2 cents...

Hello. My name is Tryg and I found the forum whilst looking for information on a Sustainer. I have played guitar for 20 and a bit years, I have messed with electronics for a little longer that that. I also get a buzz working on anything mechanical or any vintage technologies. I am based in the West of Ireland. I worked in/managed a number of guitar shops in Denmark Street, London, during the '90's. I am on the cusp of starting a business working full-time teching and doing some structural work also though the main effort will be in the electronics area. Hopefully I may be able to contribute some knowledge I have gained from others down through the years but it most likely will be that I will be learning which is way more fun. I am not a big "forum head", I belong to just a few and try to avoid too much time sat at a computer though I do spend a fair bit of time here. Music tastes run to most Jazz and Fusion. I love the music of Michael Hedges, Allan Holdsworth, Bill Frisell, Scott Henderson, Jaco Pastorius, and the late great Shawn Lane. There are loads more things I like to listen to too. I hope to find my time here rewarding and enriching. That's it really! Cheers!
