  1. Im trying to get my courage up to do some checking somehow on my Nitro finished body. Im kinda leaning towards the exacto knife method, because I have would have some control on whats happening I'd be willing to try the "freeze the body method", I just want it to be cross grain and no spider web cracking. I don't know it the compressed air stuff will give the more natural look... thoughts? I would appreciate any info of anybody elses attempts, success, failures, blade size, etc. Many Thanx- Dave http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=847494242&size=m
  2. What is the best way to remove a waterslide decal from a headstock ? I do not like the way it looks (creases, lines). It was my first attempt in putting one on Its on a new neck, and I did not clear coat over top of it yet. I have another decal I can apply. Thanks in advance for your help- Lonesomedave
  3. Hi - Im trying to install a Tele cup jack (for the first time), the one with the bent square piece with sharp corners. I 'd like to do this without making or buying the "special tool" if possible. A diagram would be great. Does the bent square piece angle away from the control plate to bite into the wood inside the jack cavity? Mine doesn't seem to fit in the hole.... Thanx in advance for your help- Lonesomedave
  4. Hey all- I purchased an all-parts nitro finished neck. At some point I want to put some kind of decal on there when the guitar is done. Can I apply the water slide on top of the nitro finish and then spray some clear on top? I guess I should just ask, what are your recommendations on how to do this.. I know you guys have been doing this a long time. All info much appreciated! Lonesomedave-
  5. Deglosssing Mint Green Pickguards Hi- I want to replace my Tele pickguard with a more vintage looking one. I had heard about deglosssing mint green pickguards and then staining to achieve the vintage look. What do I use to degloss (chemical/sandpaper ?), and whats involved in the process? Im a newbie to this ... Thanx in advance for your help- Lonesomedave
