  1. well the problem is that i already have the FR
  2. well i knew that routing was required but the arch in the guitar i have actually isnt that arched, like theres barely any to it so i think it may work better. but ill call in my dad with this one too (hes pretty much a woodworking expert) so the routing shouldnt be TOO big of a problem and i planned on repainting it anyway....
  3. I used a rattle-can. Now that I think about a bit, I had to buy a whole package of the transparency stuff, which was a bit costly considering what I needed it for. You're probably better off taking your design to Kinko's or your local equivalent on a disc and having them print it on a laser printer. It would save you having to shell out for a whole package of stuff that may or may not work for you. thats very true... its extra stuff that really drives guitar building prices up!
  4. You can get transparency film that works with inkjet printers. It's pretty thick, though, and takes a lot of clear to build up over it. If you use it you have to be careful to keep the ink from running (a few mist coats of shellac did it for me, plus I was careful not to move it around once it was on), and (as always) try it on scrap first. true, but you said they were thick and im not sure if i want that much clear coat....
  5. well thanks man! and if i get the trem in (which is apparently a hard route job ) ill post pics! I am sure you will make the proper templates for the route job and place the templates correctly, and I am sure you have your height issues under control(TOM to Floyd, neck andgle and what not). Keep us updated! Peace,Rich i was kinda hoping to just adjust the current routes cause the bridge and lock line up fine so im not perfectly sure what ill do about that... im still in the planning stages!
  6. no... for the O i used a router, and the other letters i used a mounted jigsaw
  7. well thanks man! and if i get the trem in (which is apparently a hard route job ) ill post pics! i thought about using that method (but id have to go to the kinkos down the street for the laser printer) but if i decide not to do that, i did it once on a past guitar where i made a cutout template of the logo and used a wood burning torch then a little bit of lacquer and it looked really nice! but im not positive yet...
  8. well thanks man! and if i get the trem in (which is apparently a hard route job ) ill post pics!
