  1. Asking this to you who have experience in making necks and profound wood knowledge. Made some neck blanks and didn't look at the fibre orientation - linearity - before it was sawn. Planning to do one-piece JEM style Scarf joint necks. The top Piece - neck only - looks OK The second Piece has the Fibres angled up at the heel. I could move the neck to the Left to avoid it, but the outermost Left area is dedicated for the headstock, and I would then have to be without the head on that piece. The Third Piece has a slouch twist at the top part of the neck. The Fourth Piece has a long S-twist allover. Would preferably avoid having to do Laminations. Are these Twists too Severe for any one-piece neck, or are they neglectable? Haven't seen any JEM necks with this level of extreme fibre twisting. The Wood is 30mm Hard Maple dried for many years.
  2. Can you ask Fullerplast? - too lazy to join a new forum just to ask for knobs. Can't find it on MIMF.com. Got a link? eBay? White With black text? one in a billion. Most troublesome is than No-one fabricates them, Every Fabricator in the entire world prints gold! (hope not)
  3. Looking for Long scale (35"+) Bass strings with some kind of red fabric wrapping at the top ends. Anyone know where to get them?
  4. Have some used Bass tuners, Gotoh style, with the Bushings smaller than the lower "part" and therefore threading into it. I'm looking for some more Crome ones of the same Style but can only find ones with the Bushings going on the Outside, Like: Stewmac GuitarPartsDepot.com have some similar, but looks like outsiders too. Anyone know where to get the 'internal' ones?
  5. Talked with the Swedish Distributor and they DO NOT have white with black text Tone or Vol knobs, only White/gold! Although Allparts USA claims so. these is NO Black text white knobs available in the entire World - that I have found.
  6. Looking for the Body Thickness of Peavey Cirrus 6-string Bass and Aria Pro II Urchin U-100. Anyone knows? 40mm? A proposal is to gather all known Guitar and Bass body thickness data in one thread for reference.
  7. Jon does NOT do 24-ft 820mm (32.28") bass scale slotting, that site informs.
  8. Can't find anything on Jon here, alas. I do not request speed, just good shipping cost. If LMI is equal to Stewmac (At Whom you can see the shipping fees beforehand!! Hourahh!) in European shipping "Postal Air shipping", then I have an idea.
  9. Maybe not the right place for this question. I wonder what LMI takes for Fretboard shipping costs to europe. I have asked them directly and requested a table for comparison. But they refer only to placing an order and providing CC info BEFORE you know the shipping cost!! anomalous and imbecilic! Anyone from europe who have ordered Fretboards from them know what shipping might be expected for various volumes? I was planning: (All to be slotted/radiused) 1 WFPAUBWX fingerboard, Pau Ferro, 1st grade, 6 string bass $13.60 1 WFC1 fingerboard, Camatillo Rosewood, 1st grade, standard $8.55 1 WF1M fingerboard, Macassar Ebony, 1st grade, standard $13.30 1 WFRBS fingerboard, Madagascar Rosewood, 1st grade, bass $19.95 SubTotal $55.40 + 3 more FBs How are their Slotting and radiusing works? Was looking for a 24-ft 820mm (32.28") bass scale slotting - they couldn't do it.
  10. Really? U-Rods too? 700mm (27.6") is what is expected for a Cirrus neck. 590mm (23.2") for a Aria pro II CSB. These lengths are my guess as they don't sell parts or reveal specs.
  11. Where can you find Long Dual-Action (up/down) Truss Rods in 700 (27.6"), 590 (23.2") and 670mm (26.4") lengths? U-rod versions wanted, too.
  12. Looking for a Clear Epoxy for Clear Acrylic JEM Vine Inlays and found the Epoxy 330. Is this Epoxy 330 Available to Europe? (Haven't found a seller.) Or Is there any other similar Clear Epoxys available, without the yellow tint? Appreciate all info.
  13. Looking for Speed knobs with the Grip Grooves on the edge, Like Aria Pro II Cardinal CS-250 and CSB. Black knobs, GT503 , are available at http://www.jhs.co.uk/xguitartechparts.html , but looking for Gold or Amber ones if available. But All colour options are of interest.
  14. Looked long an well but haven't found any 4-string Bass Bridge with 16mm string spacing, Aria CSB-style. All available seems to be 20mm Precision-spacing or 5+ strings bridges.
  15. A Screw-in. Seems to have a circa 0.5mm wider tread than Floyd, 8.8mm v/s 8.3mm. The T-bar cavity has a 6mm inner diameter (14mm deep), 0.2mm too small for my Floyd "Licence" bar. The Anchor grooves are ~12.2mm diam. at top groove, ~10.85mm lower groove, but the Studs are told to be the same on both posts.
  16. Got a Used "Bendmaster Deluxe" Tremolo Which I want to know if it is Complete. Looking for a Tremolo Bar, Anchors and Bridge height Adjustment Screws for it. I guess it might originally be for a Westone Guitar. Heard that Floyd Rose Parts would fit on it, but my "Licence" trem bar won't. I Found that the upper anchor cavity is larger than the lower, so it must need two Differently dimensioned Adjustment Screws
  17. Looking for a Really Thin Fretwire with the height of 0.055" to 0.057", 1.4 - 1.45mm. Dunlop 6100 height. It Should be 2mm wide (0.079") or less. Gary Kramer http://www.garykramerguitar.com/F1.htm has a Vintage Wire: "For increased playability the F-1's fingerboard utilizes two different fret sizes. Medium jumbo frets are installed from the 1st to 24th fret position, with Vintage sized wire running from 24 to 36. Don't know it's size though. Dunlop 6105 is 2.29mm wide but I'm looking for a thinner one.
  18. Doing my own Fender type Truss rod and wonder what kind of TAPE you wind around the rod for preventing Rattle. A plastic Tube for fitting on my 5mm rod and in the 6mm slot, I have Not found yet. The M Hiscock recommendation of a Plastic Drink Straw I have doubts about. How much marginal do you need to enable movement but hinder Rattle?
  19. Black stain Van Halen Stripes Harlequin Checkers, Gold - Dark Red - Dark Yellow
  20. There is no Seller in Sweden I know of that sells Rosewood for just double that of Walnut, it costs 5 to 11 times as much!! Walnut: ca 2500 Euro/m3 (local dealer), Pallisander: 11110 Euro/m3 (Fanerkompaniet AB), Eastindian Rosewood: 24300 Euro/m3 (Holm AB) So it's not just a couple of dollars more! "Just a small amount of Wood..." No Wood Dealer in Sweden sells less than a Whole Plank, 2-3 metres.
  21. Y. J. Malmsten-realm... Does a ROUND Carbon Rod give any real Vertical support, noticeable reinforcement of the Neck? I gather a Standing, Rectangular Rod would be best. http://www.skanehobby.se/product_info.php?...ducts_id=978512
