  1. A TUBE Rod? Does that really give sufficient vertical [Perpendicular to fretboard] Support?
  2. How wide and high must the Carbon Fibre Rods be to have stability effect in a neck? I only seem to find 1x6mm material locally.
  3. Looking for information on Recommended or examples of String Height Action (over fretboard) of both Guitars and Basses at Nut, 24th Fret, 36th Fret and Saddle.
  4. Planning to do a Fretless 6-string 36 fret Bass, Cirrus-like. What is the Reccomended String height or action on the First fret and 24th Fret? Did a test neck with almost the same "over-fretboard-height" at Bridge as 24th Fret and 1st fret just 2mm lower, and it buzzes annoyingly. Therefore it is useful to know what heights I should aim for.
  5. If you still got The CIRRUS, I would need the Dimensions of the Neck. Thickness, Headstock angle, etc. Dim's of the Body would be useful too.
  6. How long does the Truss-rod have to be to give Best adjustment function and support? For a 36-Fret (25.5") Guitar like Kramer's 36 F-1, or Washburn's EC 36? Or even those 36-fret 12 string 35" scale Basses - Jerzy Drozd, Cirrus - whose Necks goes deep into the Body ? How long are those Truss-Rods? How does the use of 2 Truss-rods on Wider necks affect the needed TR-length? Then what about Through-neck Guitars? What is needed, or the Rule-of-Thumb? Relative to Neck-Body Joint or end of Fretboard, specific measurements, etc...
  7. What about Kramer's 36 fret F-1 Guitar or Washburn's EC 36, Or even those 36-fret 12 string 35" scale Basses - Jerzy Drozd, Cirrus - whose Necks goes deep into the Body ? How long are those Truss-Rods? Or on a trough-neck Guitar? What is needed, or the Rule of thumb?
  8. The WALNUT STRAT: http://www.stratcollector.com/scn/models/walnutstrat.html
  9. What about a one-piece solid body and a one-piece bolt-on neck (Fretboard & neck - Fender style)? Any good properly dried Wood would do, I expect.
  10. You know of any Stockholm Woodsellers who can sell Rosewood planks (~50x125mm) as short as 1 metre and for a decent price? Looking for a dark wood suitable for a fretless bass fingerboard, Indian Rosewood, Venge or something. Holm sells only whole 3m planks and their wenge is Ridiculously expensive. Can get some Walnut for a good price, but it seems too soft for a fretless. Heard that http://www.hulten.nu/ sells some Rosewood, but only in Bulk.
  11. I plan to use Walnut for a fretless Bass or Guitar fretboard. Is it sufficiently hard or will it wear too fast? The Walnut Strat had walnut fretboard, but fretted, naturally. Alternatively I can use Mahogany - not as good-looking though, too light. Rosewood [Dalbergia spp] (probably Indian [Dalbergia Latifolia] ) is the alternative I most would prefer, but I know of NO retailers in Sweden (who sells Non-bulk). Who is the best European Seller regarding Shipping Costs and Rosewood prices, for smaller volumes? Any Euro Shops who sells these as short as 1m and at least 60mm wide: ? Bubinga (African Rosewood) Ebony (African, Indian) Lignum Vitae (Pockenholz) Padouk Jakaranda Rio (Brazilian Rosewood) Teak Venge, Wengé, Panga-panga Tulipwood (Pinkwood) Bubinga Amarant Cocobolo [Dalbergia Retus] Kingwood [Dalbergia Cearensis] African Blackwood [Dalbergia Melanoxylon] African Padauk (Camwood, Barwood) Damson tree [Terminalia spp] < Indisk Lager >
  12. That does NOT answer the question Where to Find Rosewood [Dalbergia spp] or Indian [Dalbergia Latifolia] in SWEDEN!! Rosewood is a collective name of woods that smells like roses! OK, Vad heter rosenträ på engelska? Holm's Rio Jakaranda for 400:-/ kg are only sold in stocky blocks, not in sufficient lenghts for a neck, I gather.
  13. If 2 truss rods are to be used on a 10 string neck, 35" scale, 36 frets, are there any noticeable differences in effect if you mount the Rods parallell to the center line, or in line with the centerline of each respective neck-half? What is best? How long does a Truss Rod need to be - relative to Body-Neck Joint, or top end of fretboard - ?
  14. Tell me how the Stability / Rigidity works with the Flat sawn neck when you set it up.
  15. I'm trying to do a guitar with just the Pickups straight to the jack, via no volume pot or tone. Is that possible? I tried with a HB directly to the jack but the noice was overwhelming. I didn't ground anything though. How would the schematics look like? ### I'm also wondering how to use a Stereo Jack for placing two different pickups on separate channels. How would that be done?
  16. I was talking about the Physical / Mechanical construction of the "LEVER", how it is inserted in the headstock, turning mechanics, if any springs are used for return, bearings used, etc.
  17. The Center position of the Ibanez Edge Tremolo Anchor on a 25.5" (647.7mm) scale lies 637mm from the nut according to the Edge manual [Floyd Rose Original 635.000 mm (±0.5 mm) acc. to Stewmac] Is 637mm the case on the (edge) JEM FP? With a 650 scale, do you just move the Anchor position 2.3mm back? Is the Anchor position calculated linear (+ value) or percentual (x value)? Does anyone know the Anchor positions recommended for the other Ibanez / Floyd trem models?
  18. I need bigger Rosewood pieces than any standards, 130mm x 1000mm x 7mm at least, maybe 130 x 400 cut area, to make all woodwork myself. A Swedish (or scandinavian) Rosewood Retailer would be optimal. Even Holm doesn't have it. (only Bubinga 48.000:-/ kbm, Rio Jakaranda 400:-/ kg)
  19. I'm looking for Rosewood - Rosenträ - in Sweden but can't find it anywhere. Brasilian or Indian or whatever available is of interest. I can get Walnut - Valnöt - I the Sundsvalls region but that's it. Mahogany is too expensive here. Anyone who knows someone who sells Rosewood blanks 130x1000x7mm minimum to Sweden With a Humane Shipping cost, under 100:- for a standard fretboard blank?
  20. Can someone explain how the Tuning Switch on the Kubicki Factor Bass Headstock works and its construction, illustrated with pictures of the Switch at the different positions? Or is there a Site that explains the Function and Construction?
  21. What kind of Potentiometers and Capacitors are Fender using on the Precision Bass (Steve Harris model or later/equal)? Also looking for a Precision Wiring Diagram with all the right parts there.
  22. I plan to Add Frets to the Bass strings on a 650mm fender scale guitar neck BELOW - or Before - the Nut. I allready have the scale set and frets positioned ABOVE the nut, I want to add frets "backwards" to get a Baritone scaling there. Is there anyone who have a Baritone Fret calculator or have an Equation for calculating Fret distances backwards from the Nut on a given Scale? For Instance : Lenght of fret 1 backwards from nut: (Number of frets [1] x constant y) = distance 1 Lenght of fret 2 backwards from nut: (Number of frets [2] x constant y) = distance 2 ... Or whatever works. Maybe it's Exponential, not constant.
  23. Allparts says Both 0153-025 and PK 0154-025 have black Text. Pictures show gold text though. Have to order some to Conclude.
  24. 0153 stands for TONE. PK_0140-025 is a CLEAR knob. PK_0153-025 is a Tone Knob with no picture, but the PK_0154-025 is the Volume equivalent of PK_0153-025 and has Gold text, so Tone will most likey be the same. So Black Numbered, White Fender Tone and Volume knobs are still to be found.
  25. Where can you Get Fender-style (=Ibanez JEM style) White Volume and Tone Knobs with BLACK text/numbers, NOT Gold text ? I have searched google and e-bay without results, but I know there are Guitars with those Knobs (old Fender). I just can't Find anyone Who sells the black font Knobs.
