  1. StewMac has a chart listing the position of mounting holes for different bridges at any scale. Go to the fret calculator page, http://www.stewmac.com/FretCalculator/, and type in your scale. The next page will give bridge mounting hole locations, perhaps yours is among them.
  2. The fungi responsible for the spalting will continue to work until the wood moisture content drops below 20%. If you store the wood in a dry place allowing air to circulate around it, the fungi will eventually stop working. If the wood is very wet, you may consider sealing the endgrain with melted candle wax to help prevent a rapid loss of water which may cause checking.
  3. The solvent for acrylic is methylene chloride and is available at cheap-chemicals.com. You would have to flood the surface in order to get an invisible glue joint, but by the time you get the solvent on, you may have already passed out from the fumes. Good ventilation and a respirator would be essential. Perhaps you could rivet the thin pieces together, it may offer an interesting design challenge. Drilling into acrylic can be disastrous with a regular twist drill. Tap Plastics sells some that are specially ground for this purpose.
  4. Hi Folks, been lurking here for a long time. If you want to avoid the incredible damage double faced tape can do to your materials, use chemistry instead of muscle. Drip a little lacquer thinner or acetone between the two joined parts and they will literally fall apart from one another.
