I am building an explorer and i wanted to make a neck out of Croatian oak cause it is a realy hard wood BUT i got a small peace and i will cut it and use for a fretboard but i bought peace of walnut and it is realy good quality.
So a question for you guys: How are your experiences with walnut necks?
Progress so far:
Body fresh under the saw:
Body sanded:
just a thin coat of paint over the body (not dried yet), to see marks and where to sand...
i will post pictures when i'm finished routing for the pickups and neck pocket... cheers
my first guitar was Dean zx, realy good guitar, good paint resistance, very good humbuckers... not too much money but one hell of a guitar!
Good for thrash metal and hard rock
