  1. craaaaaaaaaaaaaaap, oh well, i'll give it to another professional to fix this for me, it seems im no good at this stuff
  2. Digi, i tried what you said, and it didn't really work, all that worked after switching the cables was the 2nd position. all other 4 positions gave no sound....well non audible. all those positions had the same problem as when it was originally wired with the 5th position going dead.
  3. Thank you setch, it won't happen again
  4. actually i haven't, thats actually a really good idea, reverse the cables of bridge and neck, thank you so much, i'll try that
  5. could it be the 5 way switch, is it possible just 1 of those lugs messed up?
  6. im not sure, all i know is that the bridge seems fine, and i matched the colors from seymour duncan because i have a dimebucker and matched them to where they should be in the 5 way. and it sounds like a humbucker. and the 2nd position does sound like its tapped. so i think the bridge is good.
  7. well what i did was, is i rewired the conductor cables from scratch, meaning i took apart the entire pickup and gave it 4 conductor cables which i identified which one was hot, grounding, etc. the neck pickup is different that in the schematic, but i did identify which color goes where and which cable is which. so i wired it as it should be in this diagram.
  8. for about 4 months i've been trying to get this schematic to work. and i've done everything to switch cables around to get brand new cables for my neck pickup, to turning it back into a 4 conductor pickup.....but for some reason, my neck pickup in the 5th position, only a very very very weak signal will come out and thats if i raise my amps volume to 10. the 4th position works but it sounds kinda single coilish and i would like a full hum neck sound. if you can find a problem with this diagram or let me know how it might not be working on my end, let me know or see if you can correct the diagram itself.
  9. i can try that, but if that were the case, would i connect that joint to terminal 8 or 7, because the white one goes to 8 and the black one goes to 7.
  10. Sorry to bug everyone again, im just trying to figure it out. does anyone think that its odd to have so many groundings to the 5 way switch? Schecter C-1 classic
  11. THanx so much john, you've been a real help, anyway, i succeeded in making it a 4 conductor hum, but i think they might be a problem with the regular 5 way (means it has 8 poles to connect the wires to). even after using this schematic when i put in the neck series, its pretty much dead, unless i turn my 75w amp up to 10. then its audible. so is there a way to just access the neck in series without wanting it in phase?
  12. ok, gotcha so far, but im still a little stuck. as it shows in the pic, theres 3 cables coming out one coil and 2 out of another. with 1 of the red cables being the a cable that connects the 2. if i cut that red cable (its also called red 1 in the pic) do i have to worry about the end thats coming out of adjustable coil?
  13. when you mean the grey wire, do you mean the one where at the bottom right of the picture? edit. also by screen, do you mean the bare cable to normally functions as grounding?
  14. Hey everyone, first time poster here and im recently getting into doing all my own mods and what not to guitars, i can't get enough of it. right now im in a bit of a jam, i decided to play around with this LTD/ESP stock pickup and try to turn it into a 4 conductor so i could coil tap it with a regular 5 way switch, i know the diagram by heart now, and i have spare lead cable to extend from the pup, i just need to know how i go about it with this pup. These are the cables that read the end of the main lead to the cavity: Red 2 White (i believe its the main hot lead) and Bare wire (grounding)
  15. Can't wait, i would also like to know how you did this since im in a bit of a jam too.
