  1. lcg, ill give you a gibson 490 and 498, the 2 ok duncans, and if you want i can throw in 2 washburn pickups(623 and 630) at no extra charge(the washburns are not as good as the other ones.) ok 80 plus (shipping) i havent gone to the post office to see how much it costs to ship. but if you want this stuff email me at dmarkman@uci.edu, theres no rush, so you dont have to make up your mind by 3.
  2. how do i contact you via messenger?
  3. lithfield the quality of the gibsons is ok, but the duncans look (not to good) but they should sound good(you have to put some tape some cloth around the same) ill see what i can do email me and ill try to lower the price. if you just want the gibsons i could understand.
  4. i would say that when you look for an acoustic, whereever or whichever you decide to get, look for these things: 1. a solid top that is either spruce or cedar(mahogany is ok, but not as bright) 2.that the top has straight (relatively close grain) and that the grain on the sides and back are uniform and kind of go in one direction 3.sides such as rosewood, cherry, mahogany are good( i like rosewood) In my opinion used or new doesen't really matter if the guitar's is made well and with good wood it is going to sound well no matter what the price. i like seagull's(a canadian company), takamine, ( i would suggest finding a used acoustic with a really good looking top and sides.)
  5. i want: 1. 2004 american deluxe stratocaster(the gold 50th anniversary one) 2. vivroverb or cyberchamp amp( the nicest one) 3. srv signature strat i have: 1.marshall amp( not tube) 2.mexican fender strat im trying to modify
  6. ok how bout this, 25 dollars a pickup or all 4 for 80(plus shipping) The price is low becuase they are not aesthetically the best looking(but anyone who has that cloth stuff they put around the pickup will make the two duncans look better.
  7. Hey i wanted to sell some used pickups i have, and i dont have a debit card so im skipping ebay: 1. gibson 490 2.gibson 498, both in the chrome color, a minor scratch, without packaging but with the gibson usa logo on back 3. Jeff beck sh4 humbucker 4. 59 sh1 humbucker (The problem with these 2 seymour duncans' are that they both have damage with regards to the outer cloth etc... but they should sound fine. if anyone is interested just email me. both slightly damaged but working fine.
  8. i agree with derek, powertab is a great, free, program. You can create tabs, hear your tabs played, and download tabs from the powertab archive.
  9. fender vintage noiseless( a set of three) on ebay prewired with switch and pickguard and tone knobs soldered in.( i know this site is about guitar work, but i figured i got it for a pretty good price, compared to the set cost by itself.
  10. well i made a decision i bought the better quality fender pickups, i wanted a simple good, warm, bell-like sound, not anything hot, or for shredding.
  11. hey, i really like the stratocaster sound and design, i have a body and a neck from a cheaper strat(fender not squier), and because i dont have pickups i was wondering would i prewired pickguard bought through stewmac sound ok? [url=http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Pickguards/Pre-wired_pickguards.html] i also saw someone selling prewired pickguards with texas specials and "noiseless pickups" but i was wondering whether it was worth the extra price.
  12. i can work weekends and until maybe 8 or 9 pm
  13. I go to a university here in CA and i will be able to use the woodshop, space, all the tools, and all the finishes, sealers, everything: theyve got like 3 bandsaws(industrial 20 inch.) spindle, belt, orbital sanders, table saw, individual routers, and a table, all the bits, miter and tile saw, the thing you can use to rip and do crossection cuts, every hand tool:chisels, spokeshaves, theyve got workspaces, vices, clamps, scroll saw, and a welding shop, (think of the things i could make there(the truss rod!!!!) I feel like ive entered into a novice luthier's heaven
  14. hey can you make a strat out of a very hard and old mahogany, i mean will it sound to much like a les paul. (maple neck), if it is will chambering the body make it bassier or will it help the situation. I really dont like the les paul, im more of a strat fan, especially when stevie ray vaughn, clapton, or hendrix are or were playing it. thanks im still trying to firgure how to post of a pic of a beautiful blank i found and dont want to ruin, it shimmers like a jewel in the right light, and looks like jupiter,(if you can picture from outer space).
