  1. I bought it from Antoniotsai in Viet Nam and replaced everything on it.
  2. So I am going to use sand sealer next? sand then spray the burst then clear coat and sand and clear coat again?
  3. AAAARGH! so I havent looked at my strat body since I finshed dying it. There is a small section of the veneer that has pulled away from the body since it dried. Can I put a small amount of glue on a razor blade, slide it between the body and the veneer then clamp it down without there being any further damage? Could I use grain filler and then sand it? My schedule has come to a screeching halt until I am able to repair the veneer.
  4. o.k. here are the pics on my myspace page. http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?...albumId=1360441

Alder body from Antoniotsai, neck from warmoth, gfs pickups.
  6. That was easier than I expected It ain't perfect, but neither am I...plays like a dream come true.

  8. I just put my baritone strat together and it has a slight bow in the neck. The truss rod is in the heel. Tell me if this is what I need to do. 1. Loosen the strings till they are floppy 2. remove the neck 3. adjust the truss rod 4. put the neck back on 5. Tune 6. check neck bow 7. repeat if neccessary Should I just take it to a pro? Does fender put their truss rods in the heel just to make dorks like me take it to a licensed fender professional? I really want to know how to do this but I couldn't find any threads on it.
  9. Thanks, I am a patient man. I just figured reranch was like any company online, ready to take my money at all times. I will patiently wait for a response from him.
  10. Reranch carries the translucent blue aerosol I have been looking for. However, when I click the "buy online" button it opens a window and asks for a name and password. When I enter it, it wont accept it and then kicks me off of their site. Anyone know how to get into their order page? or a phone number. This is very frustrating, I need this product and I cant find it anywhere else.
  11. Thanks everyone! Now I have an idea where to start. My strat is dyed green and sanded, the burst i want will be very thin, maybe an inch. I thought the blue might look cooler than the black. I am ok with the blue appearing black, we'll see.
  12. I assure you that having my caps lock button activated doesn't mean anything, I like to write in all caps when I am at work. I am looking for a ready to use spray and I didn't find it at reranch but I had difficulty navigating their site.
  13. YEAH, I AM LOOKING FOR A BLUE TINT SPRAY BUT I DONT KNOW WHO TO ORDER IT FROM. ALL I CAN FIND IS BROWN TINT.
  14. check out this finish!!! Click on the fifth one down. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=htt...I7GGLG%26sa%3DN I have a strat which i just stained green, it looks great. For the burst I want blue like the bass above has. Can I order a blue tint to get that look? If so, from who?
  15. I know electric guitars inside and out but my friend brought me his guild 12 string acoustic and asked me to fix it and in return I can use it in the studio. I couldn't say no. 2 of the bridge pins are broken and i cant figure out how to remove them. I have never so much as strung an acoustic before and I couldnt find any info on google. any suggestions?
  16. My new strat is great but whoever did the fret job must have rushed it. When I am playing the frets scratch my finger as I slide my hand up and down the neck. I feel like I could saw through logs with it. Can I sand them down? Do they need to be filed? Or should I just replace all the frets?
  17. that looks like what I want to do right there! I am using laminated "black abalone"
  18. I have been working on what I have dubbed the squidocaster. I am tricking it out as much as possible and I was wondering would it be hard to cut a piece of matching pickguard material and connecting it to the headstock with 4 screws. I think I would have to heat gun the nut side to get it to conform to the shape but would it be bulky or cause any tone problems?
  19. I just purchased a black abalone H-S-S pickguard for my strat copy. However, the humbucker slot is about 1/16" too small. The easiest option would be to get a different humbucker but I like the one I bought for this guitar. What would be the simplest way to widen the slot. dremel? file? saw? this is very frustrating, I just want to hear what my new pickups sound like.

  21. POST NEW PICS, THIS IS WHAT I AM PLANNING ON DOING. THANKS
  22. I didn't realize they could "can" your own colors. Thats pretty sweet.
  23. The only transparent green aerosol I have found so far is from Testors. They have all the colors I would need however I don't see anyone suggesting them. Is there a transparent green out there that I should try? (yes, I am starting a second project already)
