  1. I have some fretboards up on the bay' if anyones interested Here and here
  2. Just wet the areas, the water will swell the marks back out.
  3. What is this all about? You can email him through his profile. Why not check his website for contact info?
  4. Yes they are. They have the fretboard radius across them as well as a small radius perpendicular to that to hold the crown. If that makes any sense.
  5. I have seen Peavey Classics and Blues for around $250. Anyone know if they're any good?
  6. The stainless wire can be a b!*ch on fret files if you are using it a lot. It's just harder so it will take a bit more work to level and crown. Chuck Norris could probably just look at your neck and the frets would be leveled, or the neck would vaporize. Just call his name because Chuck Norris is in all places at all times.
  7. Everyone knows that Chuck Norris is the hardest material known to man, stainless steel might be as hard as say, his hair..............maybe
  8. In the beginning there was nothing but then Chuck Norris roundhouse kicked that nothing in the face and said, "Get a job!" and that was the beginning of the universe.
  9. Take it to a trained luthier. Thats too $$ guitar to try your first repair on.
  10. Wait for the neck and make a template from that.
  11. You are going to need a pretty decent size compressor to spray with. I have a 33 gal Craftsman (~$330 new) and I could really use a larger one. You need to look around at guns and take note of the CFM requirements and then match those to the output of the compressor you are looking at. Its probably a good idea to find the compressor that matches those specs and buy slightly larger. Nothing worse than running out of air mid spray.
  12. Sweet! Might have to pick one up.
  13. Theyre not filtertrons. Theyre probably pretty similar to the ones sold by guitarfetish.com, Korean imports. Cool score!
  14. I used a robo sander on my tele headstock and it worked well.
  15. I have a brand new Stewmac dual grit diamond fret file (150 and 300) for wide wire. I bought this for my tele project but now that I have been fortunate enough to get a job at a guitar company I no longer need it. It was never used. Stewmac wants $55 for these, I'll take $45 shipped (in North America). Paypal, check, money order, whatever. Below is a link to stewmac.com if anyone is curious to what this looks like. Fret File
  16. Quit messing around and start that next violin!!!
  17. I wouldnt woory about it. If it bothers you you could always get a headplate from LMI for $4 and laminate it up.
  18. Whats yer' plan for routing the truss rod slot deeper now that you dont have a parallel edge to follow anymore?
  19. Im gonna go out on a limb and say that steel wool was not a good idea. If any of that crap stayed on/on the wood youre gonna see it down the road. You have two industrial pin routers and you still brush on laquer
  20. $35 shipped for both or $20 per.
  21. I have two of the earlier Stew Mac fret scale templates for use with either a table saw setup or handsaw/miter box style setup. I bought these about a year ago with plans of getting a blade for my tablesaw but I never got around to it. I now have the oppurtunity to cut my boards at work so I dont need these anymore. They are brand new. I did pull the paper off one side of one template (theyre 1/4" lexan). Otherwise they are in perfect condition. One template has a 25" and 25.5" scales and the other is labled Gibson Long and Gibson Short which is 24.625 and 24.75 as far as I can tell. Stewmac now offers these in stainless steel for $40 a pop. LMI has lexan ones for ~$32. I was hoping to get $40 shipped for both or $25 shipped each. Let me know if anyone has any questions. Thanks! ~Josh
