  1. It's definitely 110% without a doubt not a reverse. This is a reverse, off of my Striker in Psycho Splatter... Pointed end on a reverse always comes back at you...
  2. My big question is what kind of LED's are you using for this... Since I am in the field of car audio, I have access to some pretty cool stuff, but I don't know if it will work on a guitar. For example I can get color-changing LED's that change about 10 different colors, but I have to dismantle a light bar to get them... that would be cool though...
  3. *quickly changing the subject* *cough cough* Now... about that LACEWOOD top.... how pourous is that stuff, and how easy does it take stain?
  4. I edited my first post with the link, but in case you posted after me doing that here 'tis... radial arm kit
  5. Is that a Lacewood top? What kind of work is involved with Lacewood in order to stain it?
  6. I wouldn't care if it was the last guitar on earth. If Ed Roman had it, he would be keeping it, because he will NEVER EEEEEEEEVVVVVVVVER get any cash from me. He is a liar, a cheat. Here is an example... Check his J Frog guitars... Most of them are Kramer fire sale bodies with J frog necks on them and he is calling them original...He once tried to sell me a Japanese 2 neck Sambora Kramer for 8k telling me it was a USA model and there were only 6 in existence, but he could build me an EXACT copy for 4500... Now I know for a fact there were more than 6 in existence... Hell I have seen more than 6 pass through Ebay in the last few months. People who do business like that don't deserve to be in business.. If I were you I would try to find somewhere else to buy one, if not, bring lube. It will make the reaming you will get much easier to handle
  7. Harbor Freight Tools has a pretty trick adapter for a circular saw that turns it into a radial arm saw for about 50 bucks... radial arm adapter
  8. I know very little about tone woods, but I do know if you can't get Swamp Ash from your supplier, then just get Alder. Just because the wood is heavier doesn't mean you will get more sustain out of it.
  9. from what I have read about it in Guitar One, it was a one-off type of thing...
  10. Man I think if you complain enough to them, and they screwed up your order by sending you the wrong part instead of you ordering the wrong part number, they should bend over backwards to kiss your butt.
  11. Actually that is a regular hockey stick. I have one of the Strikers with a reverse hockey stick. It points up instead of down.
  12. I have some ideas for someone who wants to try and take on making a body like this. I also know of this stuff called "Liquid ICE" which is basically a casting resin that can be colored and sandwiched between 2 layers of lucite or plexi to give a really cool glow-type of color that you can't get by using just color tinted plexi. Actually it is very reasonable price wise also. This stuff is available from www.selectproducts.com but the resin is not on the site. You will have to talk to a rep and ask for the casting resin and what color dyes they have available to use. I think I might try to rout some tele bodies since I have a template for one, but I think I will experiment with laminating up 1/2" plexi, because 1.5 and 2" plexi will require taking out a small mortgage.
  13. Well... Very interesting topic... of course the a$$ hasn't learned... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...&category=38100 And to think I almost bought this a few months ago... I was actually checking the other places on the site and would have immediately noticed the rip off... and Atlanta is only 8 hours away...
  14. wow, didn't know about this until now... Since I am only 45 minutes away, I guess I will just have to check it out!!!
  15. I got a set of p-90's from Mighty Mite off ebay and they came unmarked as to which is the bridge and which is the neck. One of the two pickups on the wiring has a black and white lead, and the other has a white and silver lead. Anyone got any ideas for me on this?
  16. Woohoo I made a few new decisions as to my guitar. I bought a set of P-90's (just because I never had them before and thought they looked cool.) and I went with a hardtail bridge, and all gold hardware. Hopefully my tele project will look sweet.
  17. No I am not Canadian, although I do enjoy a LaBatt's on occasion. Thanks to everyone who has answered my questions. I really appreciate it. You guys rock. Also thanks for posting the fret calculator. That one is a little easier to understand for me than the one in the back of the book I got on building.
  18. Hi I am new to the forum, although I have been lurking around on the website for a few months now. I am about to tread into virgin territory with my first guitar build. I am building a tele style body with a template made from an old 68 Nashville body. I am putting a 1/4 inch quilt top on it and will be rear routing it. It's only getting a single humbucker (or p-90 haven't decided yet) and just a volume knob. (I figured I will keep it simple.) The neck is an unfinished Washburn neck blank that is one piece with the "skunk stripe" truss rod channel already routed in the curve for the rod. This is where I am going to have a few questions.... First one, can I re-rout the truss channel to accomodate a hot rod truss rod, also is cocobolo a good wood to use to fill the channel. (I got a piece at a good deal) Second question would be can I fret this neck to any scale, and then rout the neck accordingly, or is the length of the neck already predetermined. Thanks Tony
