    it just needs cosmetic work....it's a great sounding guitar, it doesn't go out of tune, it sounds great, but it just bothers me that it has been broken....i know it has a flaw and it drives me nuts...kinda like if you bought a dodge viper and it had a dent in it...the dent doesn't change the performance, but it sure does drive you nuts! i actually want to get ahold of this "michael the luthier" guy(he left no last name) and see what he would charge to put a whole new neck on it. jarrid

    ok call me stupid for even trying....but here goes. in 1987 my father had a guitar custom built by a luthier in tucson arizona who went by "michael the luthier". he spent 2500 dollars having the guitar built, and it is a very nice guitar, but when my dad sent it to me as a gift 2 years ago, ups broke the head off of it!! anyway, i glued it and played it for a couple years, and now i finally have the money to have it fixed properly....well anyway i really would like to get ahold of this guy(michael the luthier) so if there is anyone in the tucson area that knows him or of him that could help me find him please let me know! jarrid

    i have a boss digital wah that i really like...has several different wah's built in and you can also save 3 wah sounds in it so it's kind of like a multi-effect wah?

    i love that finish...can you make a mandolin out of maple? i'm assuming so, but do you think this paintjob would look good on it?

    Sweet guitar! Man...I wish I lived near you whenever you get it finished so that I could hear how it sounded and see it in person....haha I talk about it like it's a legend;) lol but yeah very nice! btw, what does POS mean?

    I don't draw....but that's because I suck lol. Guess I'll need to figure out how to draw some guitar stuff so that I can build my own, huh? otgordin: NICE! Wish I could be that lucky...lol

    Well I'm a blues fanatic, so when it comes to covers, I generally just play some SRV or B.B. King or Clapton, but sometimes I'm in the mood for a little more aggressive stuff so I'll play Rhoads or Wylde...just depends on my mood. I play mostly originals, but I like to be able to have a solid repetoire of cover songs as well. Not sure if that is what your asking, but if not, then I play either a Fender american strat or an alvarez acoustic or a custom built V, and I play through a Peavey Transfex Pro 212, but I'm looking for something else at the moment because I'm not liking this digital thing very much...a little too confusing to figure out I guess, considering it comes with 2 operators manuals, each well over 100 pages...lol;)

    wow good job! i really like how it looks...although my opinion doesn't mean much since i've not completed either one of my guitars i'm rebuilding yet, let alone even STARTED building one from scratch;) but i think it looks really good, does it sound good?

    What shop tools would I need to be able to start a shop to work on guitars? I mean as basic as possible, the very bare essentials/necessities. I want to build a guitar from scratch.

    I am a complete moron when it comes to this stuff, so I can't give you any advice on it, but have you went through the archives and stuff to see if there is a tutorial on it?

    True..didn't think about that..guess I'm just dumb;) So is there a way that I can find out whether or not it's orignal? Especially the pickups?

    Could be? But would they be able to get a Teisco label to put on the head and stuff?

    I don't think so...but I took them off and put them in a baggie a LONG time ago so I'll have to get back to you on that(the guitar's upstairs, stairs creak really loudly, 6 other people living here that are sleeping, 6 other people who would want to kill me if I woke them up;) lol) But anyway I was thinking the top one wasn't on the inside of the horn but rather on the front of the horn? Who knows it could be in the exact same spot and I'm just imagining things;)

    Every now and then my fiancee gets a wild hair and decides to be jealous of my guitars, and I have to remind her that I've known my guitars longer than I've known her, so we have a stronger bond...lol

    Man I wish I had any tools at all to work with...I really want to build my own guitars, but right now I'm stuck without any tools discluding sandpaper and a couple screwdrivers;) Hopefully someday, if I get good at it, I'll be able to have my own shop:)

    Yeah the body looks exactly like mine, and the paintjob that was on it was just like this one....and the head was the same...but it has a completely different bridge and it has 2 pickups, but yeah maybe it was changed around a little bit?

    Ok I've sanded most of the guitar down completely now, and I've made it to the headstock... I sanded the back of the headstock down, but if you feel like it, go to the players corner or whatever where I have posted pics again just trying to get some info(sorry about posting pics so much, but this website deletes them after 5 days.) Anyway, as you will see, the break is pretty bad and really evident on the front. Also, near the top of the break on the head, where it comes to a point, it isn't glued down real well. Should I take a carpenters knife or something and cut that piece off and fill it with wood filler?
