  1. Hey all, been watching these forums for a bit and they are awesome, so i decided to join. Im 15 and have begun to build a guitar. I have cut out the body and shaped it, and it now has to be routed. Its completely out of mdf, as its a test guitar. If this one turns out i will invest into some real good wood o build another. The main problem is that I cant really find much in the way of measurements. Im planning to have two humbuckers in the guitar. I have the measurement for the humbuckers themselves, but how far away should they be from eachother? where should i place the bridge? how far down the guitar? how far out/ wide should the 'wings' be on either side of the humbucker routing? I've read a lot on the rest of the process, but can't seem to find much in the way of those kinds of measurements. If anyone could tell me any standards, or point me in the direction of where I can get this, it would be really appreciated. This is basicly my first time with anything that required a decent amount of woodworking, so I'm learning a lot as I go. I would really like to learn how to build fine and playable guitars, that I am comfortable with. This shape can be a little uncomfortable, but I hold my guitar classical style when i play, and it feels great when held like that. Anyways any tips or tricks/advice any might have would be awesome, thanks in advance. -Wodahs
