  1. I know, but he may not have the tools necessary to accurately cut out the body. To each there own though, if it works it works. PLain and simple and it seems to have worked very well for him.
  2. Umm, actually, yes you can. And you can clearly see that the body is not sitting in a CNC mill. If you have a long enough router bit, and enough patience you can get away with it.
  3. Very nice looking, your work is among my favourite here! Can't wait to see this one finished!
  4. I wish I could find the pictuer, but I saw a picture of a an instrument that had splayed scallops and it pre-dates any of Perry's work considerably. SO just some food for thought... Otherwise, very nice work Prostheta, can't wait to see her finished!
  5. Hahahah yeah, I really enjoy watching his builds but everutime someon bumps it and its not Him I get my heart broken </3 Lmao
  6. Stop bumping this thread!!!! He'll post when he has something to post, cause evey time someone bumps this it gets everyone's hopes up but its just another impatient person who bumped an idle thread.
  7. You just don't repaint hardware, its either plated or powder coated (if I'm not mistaken?)
  8. Awesome info about the pickups. And yes it is very possible to have a purpleheart fretboard^^ Did it on the 7 string rhoads V for my brother.
  9. Very freaking sweet shape, it flows very nicely. Metal yet elegant!
  10. OH sorry about that, never seen it before so I was just wondering.
  11. Not to nit pick here but to me it looks like the ferruls are reaaaaally off. Or are those ones supposed to be like that?
  12. No offense, but to me it looks like the horns and stuff are pretty wonky, like not straight. Just my 2 cents though.
  13. My dads doing a nice clear on it and me and Ngaa are designing up (future) company logos which will be put on our guitars from now on. And thanks for the feedback everyone its appreciated. And Killemall8 im not to sure actually.. The whole L.E.D thing's up in the air right now though but thanks anyways man.
  14. Alright! Got my top wood, there was no burl so I got some really nice Spalt/Flame maple the pictures dont do it any justice by far! Ill have more pics tomorrow when its sanded to the black walnut. Enjoy Before planing, on my kitchen table Gluing to the Walnut
  15. Thanks for the feedback guys! I really like the tutorial but I want to do face dots. Side dots as well would be sweet but I have no idea where I would get fiber optic cable.
  16. Okay sorry about the lateness of the pics, haven't been home. But here's a couple. This is just the frist layer of black walnut, andother thinner one will be put on followed by the burl, so those ugly know(which revealed themselves during planing) will be covered up. Enjoy!
  17. Lol, OWNED^ But yeah thanks everyone for the help. PSW i hear what your saying, but 8 in-line are actually a common practice ESP does it on their stephen carpenter sigs and blackmachine does a reverse 8 on his. It should be alright though. Inputs greatly appreciated guys.
  18. Like I stated above, he knows the expenses so everybody needs to lay off that its just beating a dead horse. The hipshot bridges are $114 from where I get it and thats a far cry from 150... And he will either use an 808 or a 45 Dc bass pickup. Both work fine, so please stop badgering him with parts costs, he knows. Bass-man43
  19. Thanks man, Im REALLY looking forward to this one should be done by Christmas if all goes according to plan:) Bass-man43
  20. I promised, now I shall deliver Let me know what you guys think, I'll appreciate it.
  21. Trust me guys, he knows all about guitar building. He watched me and ngaa build all ours, he knows what to do and what not to. He knows about the costs involved and the dedication it takes. He's thought it through and this is what he wants, plus building an 8 is almost exactly the same as a 6 only this one has a baritone scale. Same practices just different outcome. Bass-man43
  22. Alright everybody, my warwick build is 99.99% done just have to screw in pickup and its done and its time for a new one. I will have pics TOMORROW but the body design is an original (as far as I know) I'm really excited about this one, so here are the specs. Body wood -Black walnut with Maple burl top Neck -5 piece Black walnut with maple stringers -Birdseye Fretboard Electronics -Seymour duncan AJB 5 string jazz set and STC-3A Preamp -35" Scale -Bolt on neck -Hipshot A style Bridge -Fretboard LED's (hopefully) So that's it for now but I have one question for the time being which is, is there a tutorial or something that can show me how to do fretboard LED's? Heres a pic of the pickups to tide you over for now haha
  23. It should balance well I assume, generally on a shape like that if the trap button is near the 12/13th fret area it should balance just fine. Looks awesome btw I like everything on it except the pickup rings and cover like you stated. Walnut would have been better IMO. But kick ass build none the less.
  24. Man, I absolutely LOVE carved top basses like that, I just have to get the gumption up to do one myself. Looks awesome can't wait to see her done
  25. It is an Agile intrepid im 100% positive on that because I helped him make a template yesterday! lol
