  1. I just got an "Unfinished" alder tele body on ebay that arrived with that thick plastic sanding sealer. That sort of changes my plan to tru-oil the body. So I'll switch gears and want to do a Butterscotch Blonde "Blackguard" look. I'll leave the sealer on and just paint over it, as this is going to be a beater guitar. I've tried searching, but haven't found this. Who makes a decent rattlecan "yellow" that'll look good on a tele. Something like http://home.flash.net/~guitars/buttertelelgr1.jpg Also, the grain on this is awful, and most BSB are semi transparent, I guess I'd need something that'll work either thick enough to go opaque, or over a white primer. Any Ideas?
  2. I've got two fairly recent Epiphone Les Paul standards that I rescued from ebay, both in fantastic condition, except for the fact that both have broken off headstocks. One, I have the headstock, the other has none at all. (Heck, the one with the headstock was $75, the one without was $35, the rest of both are fantastic shape.) I've tried to glue the headstock back on the one but it just doesn't have enough surface. Is there any place that's similar to Warmoth where I can buy a pre carved set neck? I've got the tools and the ability to make my own, probably a headstock down to 4th fret on both, scarfed in, but I'd be willing to pay for a pre carved neck.
  3. Greetings all, long time lurker, first time poster. I'm in the process of building up a partsocaster. After reading this: http://www.muzique.com/lab/magpaint.htm I went and bought a can of "Magnetic Paint". However, when I tried it on a scrap piece of wood and let it dry, I used my multimeter in continuity mode and got no conductivity along the surface. Am I wrong to think that shielding paint should conduct electricity?
