  1. Same here, except its my 15th birthday. I'm Jewish though, so it works out well with Channukah and then my birthday.
  2. sorry sjaguar, I didn't get exactly what I was expecting as gifts so I won't have enough cash. So I guess the black LP and the neck that came with it is up for grabs, unless sjaguar has something to say.
  3. name your price for the LP Body and the Neck. I'm not interested in the tuners though, and I will be gone until Saturday night, but I'll try to get to a computer over thanksgiving.
  4. I'll take the Black LP Body(the one on the first page), but only if the neck next to it is the original neck(which means I will take the neck aswell). Shoot me a PM or just post here.
  5. This is my first guitar and it is a classic RG to JEM. I did all the work on it myself except the wiring where my Dad helped me. Here are the specs: Body: Basswood Neck: Maple/Maple with frets 12-24 Scalloped and then refinished Finish: Sanded down from black and now is Natural with a Poly finish. Electronics: 2 Evolutions and a Blue Velvet in the middle(all DiMarzio). 1 Volume, 1 Tone, 5-way Switch. Hardware: Original Black Floyd Rose(black), Floyd Rose R4 Locking Nut(black), Rosewood Knobs. 7. I started this project the second day of April Vacation 2004 and have finished today on Novemeber 20th 2004. I want to start out by saying that I most definately didn't start this project by working everyday. This is my first project(or modification project) and it started as a RG that I bought used from the Boston Daddy's Junky Music Shop for $160. Including that $160, I spent maybe $400 on this project including supplies and parts. I did the finish, sanding, monkey grip, choosing parts, and scalloping myself with some help from my dad. My dad did all of the wiring though since it was cramped and confusing for a first wiring job(btw all those jobs I did was the first time). I used no scrap wood to test anything on and this was a make or brake project for sure. I couldn't do the jack since I wanted mine natural and you would see the lines from drills and whatnot and I couldn't do the claw since I don't have a router. For finish I used poly, and I put it on with a brush, but for the last coat I used spray so there would be no lines from the brush. I sanded the black paint from hand until I got a power sander and got it off using that. In total of all sanding, I did about 42 hours, which is because of Ibanez's tough clear finish over the black. And finally here is a comparison pic and link to the other 53 progress pics. http://photobucket.com/albums/v452/danthem.../JEM%20Project/ -for pics Comments and Critizism welcome.
  8. ^ haha. Awesome work dude. I like the first one the best(meaning he one with the pic shown on this thread)
  9. I don't know whether my build is scratch or not(I've taken out all parts, sanded down guitar, gave it a monkey grip, put finish on, and am going to reassemble soon with all new parts). I don't consider it a scratch guitar. My next project I do where I build a tele body but not then neck. I don't have the tools for the job to build the neck and so I am forced to buy one. So everything I can make from scratch I am(meaning buying wood, then routing and cutting and drilling, etc. etc.)
  10. I'd sell this knock-off strat for 100. Not an amp too though.
  11. I have enough money for #1, but sadly for you David I like to finish what I started . I need to save up money for this Jazz Bass I'm building and can't keep spending money. If you still have the body by January, I'll take it.
  12. I think what the hell are the only words that can really come to anyones mind when they see that.
  13. I haven't heard one complaint and I've heard they are better then Epiphones for a much cheaper price. I'm looking into buying one.
  14. Dont play stairway, sorry but ur not jimmy page if u were then itd b allowed but until then stairway denied MzI Your playing it for a hs talent show though, not a big concert or anything. I was just throwing out suggestions for songs people would want to hear that they can relate to and rock out.
  15. I prefer the black but still a nice bass none the less. My favorite accually . Also I remember seeing a Ric at GC for $750 once. I wish I had money then .
  16. One by Metallica Just because I'm listening to it now, but I think aslong as you got good stage presence anything would be good. Songs like stairway to heaven would be cool. Or something classic rock, everyone loves classic rock guitar riffs. Jeff Beck's Let Me Love You would work perfectly.
