  1. Hey, I've got an Allparts 70s Strat neck on my current Strat project, but I'm still not totally happy with it, even after putting finish on. It's got some spots on it [pics enclosed] and it seems to collect dirt a lot easier then my Tele which also has a maple neck. I'm assuming the spots on the neck are due to something wrong with the finish. My question is, how do I safely remove the finish from the fretboard of the [1 piece] maple neck without damaging it? Thanks. Note: This hovers around the 3rd, 4th and 5th frets. The dirt seems to collect between the 9th and 13th frets.
  2. Kai, that looks great so far. Why not buy my AllParts neck to finish it off?
  3. Haha, this is my strat he is talking about. Kai, I think the middle pickup is connected because it makes sound when I hook it up.
  4. http://www.elderly.com/images/fmic/30N/F60...stock-front.jpg From what I can see, they poke in thru the top and then you bend and wind. It doesn't matter tho,I found a tutorial on the Telecaster Forum.
  5. Hey,I am building a Partocaster and I got some Grover vintage style single line tuners for it. I can't figure out how to put strings on them and there is nothing on the net. Pics would be appreciated. Thanks,
  6. Seen it. Not doable at this point because I cannot afford colourtone and it is winter.
  7. Hey,sorry if this is a n00b question but can I yellow my unfinished AllParts neck by soaking it in tea?EDIT: Why did I not realize it would warp? Probably not but it might be worth a shot. If that doesn't work, can I use a yellow wash on top of the lacquer?
  8. Also,I am in Canada so ReRanch isn't an option for me.
  9. Hi,I only plan to do the front of the head in the tint ala a CBS Fender.
  10. Hello,I have an AllParts 70s headstock Strat neck that I want to tint. I have seen the Project guitar tutorial but I am wondering if there is a quicker [easier] method. Thanks
  11. If you're talking about the ebay Eden, that stuff comes from Hong Kong. The strat (small 's') bodies and necks they sell have a squared tele (small 't') style heel and don't match standard Fender stuff. I've heard that some of the other details are off as well, not to mention steep shipping charges and instances of freight damage. It's ok it you don't mind that sort of thing, but I'd think most people do. Actually man,Eden has 2 stores. One is in Hong Kong and the other one is in Canada.I personally think that AllParts is teh best choice. They have really nice necks for like $160-$200.
  12. Kijiji is in the USA too.Or try Craigslist.
  13. HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!Hey man,Just joking.I just like to feel important.LOL!
  14. A brass nut isn't going to increase your sustain that much.Try a brass bridge [if you can find one ]BTW,what type of guitar are you bulding? An LP type guitar or similar doesn't need any more sustain.A Strat or Tele on the other hand... .Hope this helps.
  15. If you do decide to replace the neck then just buy a Fender Licensed Strat neck from Allparts @ http://www.Allparts.com , Warmoth @ http://www.Warmoth.com, Mighty Mite @ http://www.MightyMite.com or on Ebay.Hope this helps.
  16. Try the Ebay Store Choppers Music @ http://www.Choppersmusic.com. The prices aren't wholesale but they're pretty cheap.Hope this helps.
