  2. I just wanted to thank you guys for your help. Some background on my Strat...my ex-wife had custody of it,and after over 2 years,I finally got it back. You can imagine the "good" care she was giving it.Kept it in a damp basement closet.Well,I used the advice I got here, and fixed the neck. Then came time to set-up,and all the saddle screws were frozen.Freed those up,COMPLETE disassembly and clean-up,And,VOILA!I got my baby back!THANKS AGAIN!
  3. Ok,guys...I'm a mechanically proficient PLAYER,NOT a tech...what IS CA?I appreciate the hell out of the help you guys provide nonetheless...This board is a Godsend!
  4. I've got a Strat with a couple orf neck screws stripped.I'm thinking,drill/dowel/re-drill?If this is the case,what should I watch out for,aside from the obvious,drilling too far,et al.If there's a better way,please enlighten me.I want my Baby back!Thanks in advance!
  5. Dude, releasing freon(r22) into the atmosphere is against federal law...don't get caughtLOL
  6. Yup,I just painted my Kramer bodied "mutt" with Dupli-color.I used their base over a laquer primer(Dupli-color is laquer based) Then I laid on a can of their (D-C)clear.After the block sanding down to 2000 grit,it took about 30 minutes of hand buffing and I can read in the reflection.
  7. I also did the heat thing. It works. But,ya still gotta scrape. And,that's a chore inside the "horns"...
  8. it's apb1@tds.net or stratman@tds.net.Thanks for the advice guys.Did the sandpaper thang...what a PAIN!
  9. Ok everyone....How does one remove the seemingly bulletproof finish on late model Strats?NOTHING seems to work.It LAUGHED at aviation stripper....Thanks!Andy
