  1. It's a 80's strat copy by fernandes, It has schallar locking tuners, Seymour Duncan Classic Livewire Pickups, and a nice aged amber-colored neck. I bought it off a friend and sanded/gave new paintjob and plastic hardwares. PICS
  2. actually i cheated and bought the plastic parts, after trying to stain them with tea, which didnt work. you can use lacquer with a amber stain in it to get that aged look though
  3. Alright well the guitar has been finished for a while now, and I recently got a new digital camera, so I decided to upload some pictures. Enjoy my Flickr Album! I plan to sell this body and relic a new one (preferably daphne blue), so if anyones interested in buying this, PM me. Any critiques/ideas/suggestions appreciated, thanks. --->FLICKR<---
  4. I finished the guitar, if anyone cares. I'll try to get pictures of it asap. As for the neck decal, I might be getting a fender neck tonight, we'll see.
  5. just lock this thread and delete. thanks bye
  6. Well what I'm trying to say is that I'd much rather save 200-300 bucks on a guitar that looks like a fender and would be much more satisfied. If i were to sell my guitar, it would be alot cheaper than a real fender custom shop relic and the buyer can use it to brag. Yeah i dont know what i'm trying to get at, all I am saying is that I am not going to sell it as a fender and will clearly state it, when I do actually sell it.
  7. Yes, I understand this, but I do not have the money to spend on those kind of things, and if I did put a fender logo and were to sell it later on, I think I would make more money on it. So yes, maybe it would fund another project, but so what? Builders like me who don't build too many guitars wouldn't get busted on by Fender, am I right?
  8. Well if i were to sell it, I would never sell it as a Fender. I would much rather buy a cheaper non fender product than the actual thing, and I'm sure many others would too. And the fact that it has a fender logo makes it seem so much cooler to own. It's like buying a T shirt with *cool brand name here* on it, wouldnt you want that much more than just a regular bland t shirt?
  9. Hey, i found a strat copy neck on ebay, but the guy hasnt replied to my emails reguarding the neck pocket size or anything else. Give it a go, it is ending soon Ebay
  10. I read up on the thread and it seems that if you put a fender neck on a strat copy, they wont bust on you because they only protected their logo and headstock shape. What if the neck was a mighty mite neck? Could i put a decal on it since it is licensed?
  11. Yeah after i thought about it i hit myself in the face.
  12. It is going to help because then i'll have a big enough fretboard for the strings to cover. The problem i'm having is that the fretboard isnt big enought and the e strings are off to the top and bottom.
  13. so it looks like a fender stratocaster. I'd want people to actually believe it when they see it. B could help because i could get a fingerboard the right size and the strings wont go off
