First of all, I know I can just buy a new guitar with a floyd on it, but that's not the question. I have a standard RG with Tremolo... worth about $150-200. Can I put a Floyd Rose on it, or does the Tremolo Cavity need to be altered?

As I've noticed, the plans that I currently have don't give any explanation as to how the neck should be cut, shaped, and connected to the SG body... does anyone know where I can find some detailed Gibson SG neck dimensions or descriptions? Thanks in advance.

So, I have an SG body that's in great shape and is ready to start carving, but the previous owner cut the holes for the bridge and bridge stop and they look very poorly done. What would you guys recommend I do to "start over" with those holes? Can I fill them with wood filler and still be able to stain the body without being able to see those fills? Is wood filler even an option? Thank you in advance!

I'll probably go with a solid color then. The one thing about the tremolo that came with it is that it NEVER stayed in tune. The neck didn't come with a Lock Nut (which seems ridiculous if you're going to have a tremolo like this one). With that in mind, is there a way to convert the head/neck into a Locking nut? Or should I just get a new neck?

Does anyone know what I'm talking about? The RG was made in indonesia which probably means that they don't take the time to sand and paint the surface, rather, they just slap a pre-cut cover with the logo on it...

That's what I thought it was... I may be new to this whole process, but it's too thick to be plain sanding sealer. So is it worth turning this into a project or do you think that the wood is so crappy that it should just be forgotten about. It had a maple neck with a nice ebony fretboard, so I'll at least keep the neck. Anymore suggestions?

I have an RG120 that I want to play around with as a project but there are a few questions that I have before I proceed. 1) The RG120 body itself (after some investigation) seems to be covered in some type of translucent coat (reminds me of fine fiberglass) and then painted over top of that... am I wrong? 2) How do I remove this ridiculous coat and get to the wood? I tried stripping it, but nothing happened... 3) Is it possible to put a Floyd Rose in place of the extremely cheap Tremolo that came with the RG120? Thanks for your input in advance!

Does anyone know where I might be able to get a template for the classic Ibanez Jet King 2? Ibanez JTK2

So as I look closely at this headstock, I'm noticing that the logo isn't actually on the wood of the headstock... rather, it's on a plastic sheet that glued to the headstock. If I remove this, I lose about two millimeters of the head width and the plastic actually underlaps the nut by about 3 or 4 millimeters. Are there any recommendations as to what I should replace the plastic "logo plate" with, and how to deal with the underlap? Thanks a lot!
