  1. He uses Boss DS-1 and a ibanez tube screamer trough carvin amps vai uses his neck pickup alot for leads! wich gives a more mellow sound good for legato's and tapping and that defines his sound! That + lotsa gain + delay will get you close! I Hope this helps
  2. Look here and here I just love that guitar... off course its not one of those cheaper imports but it's a bc rich right? The american bc rich guitars and some off their import guitars are really cool imo!
  3. you should really check out the white stripes!! He uses slide in his solo's, it sounds really freaky but is so cool! He tryed stuff like a slide + digitech whammy and it sounds awsome!
  4. I like the first one best too I don't really like the curve nor thebocaster on the body, your going to put bocaster on the headstock anyway right? but off course you shouldn't listen to me looks very original though!! I realy like it!
  5. Hey I've got a new amp today! My first real big amp! ( I had a roland cube 30) It's a fender hot rod deville 2x12"!!! I've already played on it for 2 hours and I just love it!! pictures coming soon!!! just so exited!!
  6. http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/b/blac...rn_ver4_tab.htm this tab seems good to me! I just love that song!!
  7. yesterday, I got optima 24 carat gold strings from my aunt ! I didn't even know that such a thing exists. does anybody know more about them, (do they break easily, should I take special care of these strings) I haven't hanged my strings yet!... Happy newyear btw
  8. I know a guy who uses 2 fender bassmans in his practise room and they don't even have a bass yet ! -edit- but they have 2 guitarist who use these bassmans if you get me...
  9. yeah when I play some very fast solo with all kindsa cool stuff my parents would describe it as "noise" rather then music! I started practising eruption a few months ago and now i can do about 3/5th of it correctly, it does help you learn tapping and alternate picking stuff...
  10. I like the desing, the neck shape looks great but I preffer the slightly bigger banana headstock(first pic.) over the more rounded one (second pic). but this is just total taste and you should choose one wich suits you best! the volume knob might be in the way if you wan't to do tapping! strangly enough te switch on my les paul gets in the way when I wanna do tapping while standing and it can be pretty enoying!! (a wolfy copy with banana headstock just screams "tap me!" )
  11. I listen to certain band s that (I envy ) inspire me to play everyday! Sometimes when I listen to randy rhoads or yngwie malmsteen I go and play scales over and over again till I'm bored! That might not sound like a motivation but when I notice I get a little bit faster after a week, that can totally cheer up my day! I take a bike to school everyday and its pretty annoying when I get home can't play for an hour just because fingers are pretty much immovable!
  12. wow that body shape looks just like those '84 explorer with wider horns! I always liked explorer without pickguards I wonder why they don't make them somany ppl would buy it looking forward to see progress
  13. Today I bought guitar techniques magazine and straight from the magazine: Pro Tip: One of the main features of Zakk Wylde's style is his use of pinched harmonics. These can be quit difficult to achieve especially on the lower strings to preform a pinched harmonic, you have to touch the side of the picking hand tumb on the string directly after you have picked the note. To do this you must pop the pick past the strings so that the tumb makes contact. Make shure the tumb does not remain on the string as this would result in a muted note.I would also suggest using a generous help of gain. This says it all, try to learn it with the help of gain and when you really want to master the technique start using less and less gain or even clean.
  14. yeah , I didn't mean specificly emg's, but that does help people like zakk to pinch that easy! I think you can even play pinch harmonics on single coils but that doesn't just sound too well!
  15. I just got into it myself ,I used to get some pinch harmonics by accident when playing with high gain, now I starting to be able to do it on command! I can only do it on the 4-5 highest strings and unless you have emg's and and enough gain you won't be able to make your low E string squell like a piggy
  16. E||---------------------|| B||---------------------|| G||-------------5---7-*|| D||--------5---7------*|| A||-8--7---------------|| E||---------------------|| hey curtis i think you play this part this way and if you look on the other tab you'll find out whats wrong!
  17. something like a marshall JMP?? I am still looking for a decent amp (since my guitar broke down there where a lotta delays...) I've found a marshall jcm 900 for 650 € a marshall JMP for 750€ and a jcm 800 for 850€ ,all used!! I'm into stuff from hendrix to BLS, metallica... what would you think is the best deal
  18. can't believe no one mentioned zakk wylde
  19. I never heard one, but guitar world had a review about 'em wich wasn't bad... anyways they look so cool! if they made good sounding cheaper amps in these colors it would be my favorit! Music123 seems to be selling out all of the washburn dimeguitars
  20. well do they even make them? the website says ""the red bear line was eventually dropped by gibson""
  21. has anyone ever heard of red bear amps? http://www.angelfire.com/ok2/joseph3000/redbear/index.html all I know is that they make tubeamps in russia at a sweet price!
  22. yeah, I saw on the dean website they where gonna release a guitar for him and he just signed for krank amps too!
  23. http://www.damageplan.com/ RIP Dime
  24. damn, thats sad! I didn't listen much to his music, but read alot about him in magazines! does anyone know why the guy did it?
  25. I always wonder if these 30 watt all tube amps are loud enough to play with a band...they say it sounds louder but will it cut trough?and can you gig with it? I onced played the avt 150 combo and my first impression was: It's really loud and could probably handle anything from ac/dc to metallica and further... espescially because it has 2 OD channels.
