looking good as usual Amdy - curious tho' - is that another LP I see in the back-shot? was this the "template"? Ha, no had some templates & half way thru building remembered I had that LP copy in a cupboard somewhere. It was a £80 kit guitar and my 1st ever 'build' Drilled the control holes, its time for some colour dyed with a golden oak colour, then sanded this back Then covered the whole thing in amber stain and tried to burst in the golden oak again couldn't resist a mockup

cheers all, got it wired up sounds fat, very tubey neck pickup. Be interesting to see what the LP sounds like with the same woods but chambered.

Really hard to get a decent photo with the phone, its brown when the suns in, then amber, golden orange when the suns out

Headplate on. Found I had a bass sized ebony board, so chopped a bit off & still enough left for a 24 fret guitar binding on trimmed down the headplate

still shaping, getting the pickup curve Drilled the bridge in Got some cocobolo, that's not wide enough so might bookmatch for the headplate

cheers for the pics Neck from the leftover blank used for the PRS Cutting the tennon and routing the top to the same angle test fit, wasn't quite fitting, then I realised I forgot to cut the end of the tennon to 4 deg, doh routed the pickups and started carving the top

out of the clamps and trimmed down yesterday How thick is a LP back? Need to thin it down. Did a little colour test and today after spraying the PRS, started on the fretboard, 2nd inlay job + bonus sock and croc action levelled the inlays down this one was the worst, should be good with a little fill after radiusing. Also too a nick out the boardwith a chisel but glued back down ok Question on the binding, been looking at various pics but not sure yet. In the horn, does the binding go up to the top of carve leaving a little bit of maple top showing underneath that then gets stained with the back? Don't like the look of binding that varies in height I've seen on some.

had a play with some magnets don't know if I like the finger cutout and today the rain stopped and the sun came out so got a couple of clearcoats on

Never even played a chambered guitar, so figured as the body is the same wood as the PRS I'd give it a try & see what different it makes if any. F hole? Not sure if I even like f holes. cutout and glue

Got bored while waiting for the 2K to finish the PRS, so started another top ripped and glued which way round for the flame?

not decided yet cheers rad Levelled & recrowned the frets, stung it up for a test Still no finish, waiting for some 2K supplies to turn up Jewellers saw turned up from ebay, so had a go cutting out a logo, need more practice so sticker for this one Got a bought nut in at the mo, started making a bone one, never made a nut before! was just bodging it from whatever files I had. Any recomendations for proper nut files, the ones I've been looking at a like a hundred quid a set?

Cheers allFound the birds on ebay while searching for side dots, last min purchase otherwise I wouldn't have attempted my first inlay on a board that was already glued on, bound and radiused Roughed out the carve today with the angle grinder Marked it out cutouts with a drum sander in the piller drill started smoothing out

cut the pickup plane at 2 deg to transfer from the bridge to the neck angle and the routed the bridge pickup and now can start the carve

cheers Chucking it down with rain again today, so thought I'd do a bit more Heres hoping.. phew Is it in the right place? Wilkinson wraparound bridge - went on the stewmac site scale calc & it said 25.006" or what ever to the centre of the posts, but luckily I noticed that they changed the design from this bridge to the newer one. This one, the saddle ends are 6mm further forward than where the centre of the posts would be.
