Maybe I worded it wrong. Fender.com worded it as a special "scooped" mid-range voicing wound to Mayer's exacting specifications. I really can't find any info on the pickups other than it's big dipper single coil pickup. Sorry for the lack of info.

Anyone know how Mayer's midscooped pickups work? or how to make them?
