  1. but what about the gap between trem block and the routed part... does this not matter? as al my others sit tightly into there... this one doesnt there is about 10mm of movement, also how do i change the nut o nthe neck (never had to before)
  2. yer i was thinking of doing that, the only thing is that shouldt the trem block be tight in top and bottom of the hole though ( i know when filled and drilled it will secure it) but i would have thought it would need to sit tight in there.... the springs would hold it obviously but i didnt want to have to mess about with drilling etx on this one as its got a brilliant blue sunburst on it
  3. Hi al, just bought a Mighty Mite body and neck, and have problem with the trem i had already had, it doesnt fit!! the 6 screw holes dont align properly sizes are as follows ; distance between holes 11.5mm (centre to centre) Trem cavity - 80mm x 21mm the trem i have isnt an orginal fender one which i presume is where the problem lies... does anybody know where i can find one which will fit this, i have tried ebay but dont want to shell out cash for something that wont fit.... again Also, the nut on the neck, how do i replace this as it is showing signs of wear and whats best method or type of nut to use. Rich
  4. just liek to say massive thanks for the advice, i had polished my frets then i used some lighter fluid (naptha) and rubbed it into the grain with tooth brush, then mixed boiled linseed oil in with white spirit to thin it 50/50 ratio, and applied for 10 mins VERY lightly and buffed up by hand then once restrung it plays soooo smooth and fast now, an ESSENTIAL thing to do on any tired neck
  5. i cant find any thread on it .. any ideas? has anybody wired a theremin before o a strat wiring ? any clue of how to do it?
  6. Hi , i was on youtub and noiced 'the banshee' guitar, has laods of effects built in and a theremin, which intrigued me ... the link is there if anyone hasnt seen this before, but i was mainly enquiring is this possible to do on a strat body ( i mainly jsut want the theremin function as i have a boss me - 50 for effects usually ) also does anyone have any idea for wirign diagram of hwo to do it or any tips? my brothers band uses a theremin and woudl be great to build it in... plus hwo the hell did he get all them effects in there :S i presuem by using the gummings out of a multi effects pedal and wiring individual switches up... 9. The photos should be attached, yes i am aware my legs are in them ... and before the jokes come, no they arent in need of oiling , only the fret board lol http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii15/rich315/P1010105.jpg http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii15/rich315/P1010103.jpg http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii15/rich315/P1010102.jpg hopefully that should be able to see pics if not just copy the URL. These are best pics i can take of it, i will probably use linseed oil liek suggested but what thinner would you advise to start with?

  11. Hello, After some advice, i have a maverick bass, and the fretboard is VERY tired looking, i polished the frets up as shown in tutorial and followed all steps spot on, i then applied lem oil ot the neck to give it a good lusture ( neck is rosewood) and in the grain it has almost white marks keep appearign when dries out, i cant think of anythign else to do, it comes back after lem oil treatment looking even duller or faded it isnt a dark rosewood but it looks like CR*P now.... any advice or solutions please help smile.gif Rich

  15. Hello, New to the forum ive been advised by few of my mates to come on here ... i have just come into psosesion of my brothers old strat, although the electronics are nackerd so i thought id start again. The below links are the pickups and wirign kit (very basic ) but i just want it as a side hobby as i play bass mainly but dotn want to see a good guitar gone to waste. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FENDER-STRAT-WIRING-...oQQcmdZViewItem Wiring ^ http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/6-string-3-x-single-...0QQcmdZViewItem Pickups^ I used to be kean int oelectronics but i am unsure about what capacitor etc i need, i have several wiring diagrams so that isnt a problem, but will these all be compatible and will it give a good sound? if not what do i need ot change or do? i want it to sound fairly high but with a different sound ... any ideas?
